The label La Vida Es Un Mus (LVEUM) has announced a massive addition to its roster—welcoming the project Prisonnier du Temps. If the name doesn’t ring a bell yet, you should know it is the work of Jacky Cadiou from Brest, France. Jacky is no newcomer to the scene; you might recognize his signature style as the bassist for Syndrome 81 or the drummer for the hardcore outfit Coupe Gorge.
His second LP, titled „Prendre Le Pouvoir Par La Force,“ is set for release on May 15th. According to the official report released by the label, Jacky decided to smash the classic Oi! templates and take a different approach. We’ll see what these eight new tracks bring—a breath of fresh air certainly can’t hurt.
Two songs are already out, and they are raw and pissed off, yet they carry powerful melodies. The sound rolls forward with an unstoppable momentum. The intense depth of post-punk and the aggression of a hardcore sound blend and intertwine so naturally that you won’t even have time to wonder how it works. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the record.
This is going to be one hell of a ride!
