German band Maka Bar from Erfurt are back with their second studio album, Hinlänglich belegt. The album has been available on all major streaming platforms since July and has also been released on vinyl and CD. You can order the record directly from the band or through their label, Pauli Punker.
Musically, Maka Bar are rooted primarily in ska punk, with elements of other styles thrown into the mix to create a sound that works and gets everyone moving from the very first listen. This is not an overcomplicated record. The songs are direct, get going quickly, and it’s hard to sit still without reacting to the rhythm. The horns also play an important role, adding plenty of movement and lightness to the whole album.
