Canadian punk-rock institution The Real McKenzies are bringing back the bagpipes and guitars once again. The Vancouver-based genre pioneers have just unleashed their brand-new single titled „Black Agnes,“ accompanied by a slightly horror-themed music video.
The track is the first lead single from their upcoming studio album, On Yer Bike, set to be released soon under Stomp Records. Led by the unmistakable Paul McKenzie, the band still packs plenty of energy and ideas even after more than 30 years on the scene (what were you listening to back in 1992?).
„Keep your eyes peeled and your loved ones close. Black Agnes has just revealed herself! Be on your guard…“ the band messaged fans on social media.
Judging by the visuals and early teasers, it looks like we can expect the classic mix of raw punk and Scottish traditions the band is known for. Frontman Paul McKenzie poses with a stylish bicycle in the photos, a direct reference to the new album’s title.
