Formed in London in 1977, UK Subs, led by the indefatigable Charlie Harper, became one of the bands that helped shape the sound and spirit of British punk. In 2027, they’ll celebrate an incredible fifty years as a band, but the anniversary will also mark the end of their live career. Their farewell shows have already been scheduled, and the dates are available on the band’s official website.
If you’ve never had the chance to see one of punk’s true legends live, next year will be your final opportunity. Over the course of their career, UK Subs released enough albums to work their way through almost the entire alphabet with their titles, while remaining one of the genre’s most enduring and influential names.
