Alicante-based outfit GRIPP! has unleashed their latest recording, titled Recuperar el Tiempo. These five new tracks, which have just landed on Bandcamp, serve as both a diagnosis of today’s hyper-accelerated era and a call to resistance. The release is deeply emotional, stylistically sitting somewhere at the intersection of post-punk, cold oi! and hardcore punk.
The new EP was recorded in March 2026 at Red Records Estudio (Vega Baja, Alicante). On this record, the band tackles themes that weigh heavily on our present: digital violence, information overload, the loss of identity, and the omnipresent pressure to perform. In the words of the band members themselves, the record is „an attempt to stop, ask questions, and not forget who we actually are in a world full of manipulation.“
The recording has received a physical release in the form of a stylish audiocassette. In addition to the five new songs, the tape features two older bonus tracks. The release was a collaboration between the labelsAndalucía Über Alles and Polze De La Mort,, both pillars of the local independent scene. The visual side and artwork were handled by artist Aritz Aranburu (@buscandolaluz).
In their lyrics, GRIPP! critique the „cult of efficiency“ and the exhaustion that the system passes off as freedom. Their answer is a return to interpersonal bonds and a slowing down of the pace.
„We live accelerated, anesthetized, and increasingly disconnected. ‚Recuperar el Tiempo‘ is an attempt to express how we feel,“ the band stated in an official announcement.
You can listen to the EP on the band’s Bandcamp, where it is available now. The first batch of cassettes and new merch has been out since May 8th to mark the EP’s premiere.
