The German underground scene has a brand new addition. The raw project IHLE released their new digital album titled VorkrieXjugend on May 13, 2026.
I’ve been aware of the name IHLE for quite a while now, ever since their 2021 album In allerbester Jesellschaft, yet I still feel like information is scarce and the entire project remains shrouded in mystery. According to available reports, it’s supposed to be a side project of members from the well-established outfit Anti Clockwise. Although the exact details and lineup connections remain somewhat hidden, their musical direction is crystal clear.
What can you expect? Musically, IHLE navigate the boundaries of hard-hitting Oi! and classic, gritty punk. The record is dominated by distinct, fierce vocals that inject the overall sound with that genuine street energy. Even the cover photo clearly references East Germany, which in itself evokes a sense of grittiness, grayness, and the absolute necessity to manifest resistance.
On the album, you’ll find a total of 11 tracks sung in German. They roll out one after another at a fast pace and with consistent quality, coming together to form a solid, high-octane record.
The release is fresh out, and you can stream the whole thing or support the band on their Bandcamp.
