Do you love Rose Tattoo? A compilation titled „The Albums 1981 – 1984 (Special 50th Anniversary)“ has just surfaced on streaming platforms. While it’s not new material and these tracks have been floating around the internet for ages, it’s a damn good excuse to look back at a band that should be mandatory reading in elementary school.
This loud, dirty, and uncompromising Australian rock ‚n‘ roll packs an unbelievable punch. Those who were there will agree that when these bards played their Prague show at Palác Akropolis back in March 2020, it was the final live gig for many of us before the government shut down concerts for a year and a half. That raw energy—and the feeling that if this was going to be the last show for a long time, it was absolutely the right one—helped so many of us survive the miserable Covid days that followed.
The compilation is essentially just the band’s first four albums stacked back-to-back, chronicling the first half of the eighties. In other words, absolute classics.
So make yourselves comfortable. Pour a cold beer or a shot of whiskey to taste. Leave your worries behind and crank it up to eleven! These guys deserve your attention, even after fifty years on the scene.
