The Serbian Oi!/punk scene is rearing its head once again. Hailing from the town of Smederevska Palanka, the band TUČA & BATINE (translating to Brawl & Beating) is making waves with their recently unleashed three-track EP titled Umorni grad.
The record bets on straightforward, raw streetpunk and a classic Oi! sound, featuring lyrics that reflect the harsh reality of the working class, social frustration, and street life. The sound engineering, recording, and mixing were handled by Ninoslav Filipović.
The EP features the following tracks: Umorni grad (Tired Town) – the title track depicting the exhaustion of night shifts and the hopelessness of a weary small town. Ulični gospodin (Street Gentleman) – an anthem about the school of the streets, manners, and working-class pride. Opet sam bez posla (Out of Work Again) – an uncompromising social critique of the life of a person at rock bottom, facing bills and unemployment.
