An Oi! Bridge Across the Pacific: Dryacid and The Slads Team Up for a Split 7″

Fans of raw street punk and international collaborations have a reason to celebrate. A new split seven-inch is hitting the streets, connecting two vital hubs of the current scene: Fukuoka, Japan, and Philadelphia, USA. Japanese powerhouse Dryacid and Philly’s own The Slads meet on a single piece of wax.

Behind this release is a coalition of labels Oi! the Boat Records and Mister Face Records who decided to bridge the best of both sides of the Pacific. Dryacid (Fukuoka, Japan): A new discovery for me. They describe their style as „Oi la New age scrum,“ and these guys certainly don’t mess around. They contributed two tracks to the split: „Man Upset Enough“ and „Overwhelm.“  The Slads (Philly, USA): The American side counters with „Cut From A Different Cloth“ and „Forgotten Riches.“ It’s exactly the kind of straightforward Oi! punk with a rock’n’roll edge that we’ve come to expect from this Philly crew, following last year’s split with SIKM.

This killer release is limited to 300 copies on black vinyl. The visual side was handled by My Fetalbrain, and the aggressive artwork perfectly complements the musical content. If you want this record in your collection, don’t hesitate, international splits like this usually sell out in the blink of an eye.

You can listen now on Bandcamp and Spotify, and vinyl pre-orders are live through the labels.

If you want to hear what current „Oi! without borders“ sounds like, this is a must-have. Follow the labels and the bands, support the scene, and buy records!
