The streetpunk band Scunthorpe Yobs, hailing from Los Angeles, California, released their album Kick It ‚Til It Breaks last year.
The LP was originally released in the UK by No Front Teeth Records. It is now getting a U.S. vinyl release through Bovver Pressed Records, and you can pick up a copy directly from their website.
Scunthorpe Yobs play old-school streetpunk with a strong classic British influence. From what I’ve been able to find, the band’s members have previously played in projects such as Bladder Bladder Bladder, Smogtown, Oil! Öil!, The Generators, The Randumbs, Gross Polluter, The Feelers, Trust Fund Babies, Smash The Granny, Outsiders, The Shrinks, and Drizzel. Musically, their sound is a blend of classic UK punk in the vein of UK Subs and Oi! inspired by Angelic Upstarts.
