The Scaners Tease New Record: Rarities Collection „0“ Out This June

French sci-fi gonzo synth garage-punk outfit The Scaners are back. Following their simply titled albums I, II, and III, the band has decided to turn back the clock, serving their fans a special compilation simply named „0“ (zero).

To be completely honest, this loud-as-hell band had slipped under my radar until now. But their first released single, „Abyssal Love,“ totally hooked me, and I’m now carefully catching up on the aforementioned studio albums. It’s fresh, vibrant, unusual, and catchy as hell. Packed with energy and synths, it’s the perfect soundtrack for driving through a city at night—or for an interplanetary road trip to Pluto.

The new release, officially hitting the world on June 5, showcases a lesser-known side of the band. Listeners can look forward to a massive onslaught of 17 tracks, featuring long-lost rarities and B-sides from completely sold-out singles, tracks from obscure music compilations, and unreleased demos. Connoisseurs will definitely appreciate alternative versions of their biggest hits, all topped off with two brand-new, exclusive tracks.

The mastering of the entire compilation was handled by Daniel Husayn at the renowned North London Bomb Factory studio, while Paul Royaux took charge of the visuals and artwork.

For physical media collectors, this is an absolute must-have—the album is coming out on vinyl in a strictly limited run of 350 copies. This is a co-release by Wap Shoo Wap Records, Dangerhouse Skylab, and Idiotape Records.
