The Bar Stool Preachers Turn the Page with Party Eternal

A decade of touring, countless shows and songs that bring together punk energy, ska rhythms and choruses made for a room full of voices. Brighton’s The Bar Stool Preachers have built their reputation the hard way, and now they’re back with their fourth studio album, Party Eternal, out October 30. This time, they’re also taking matters into their own hands, releasing the record independently with help from their fans and a crowdfunding campaign.

The Bar Stool Preachers emerged from the UK punk scene in the first half of the 2010s, releasing their debut album Blatant Propaganda in 2016. Grazie Governo followed in 2018 and helped push the band’s name well beyond their hometown of Brighton. Their third album, Above The Static, arrived in 2023 and showed a band unwilling to be boxed into a single sound. Ska-punk remains at the core, but reggae, rock, strong melodies and socially conscious lyrics have always been part of the mix. That combination has taken them from grassroots venues to festival stages across the UK and beyond.

With fourteen tracks, Party Eternal builds on that familiar sound while exploring a broader musical palette, moving between ska, punk rock, Britpop-inspired melodies, indie and rock. The album was produced by Cameron Webb, whose credits include Motörhead, NOFX and Social Distortion. Opening track Sick World features Angelo Moore and Chris Dowd of legendary ska-funk outfit Fishbone, while closer This Is Goodbye brings in Australian Celtic punk favourites The Rumjacks. Alongside moments of social anger, there’s room for more personal reflections, friendship and making the most of the time we have together.
