The Iruñea-based band Sustrai Berriak released their latest studio album on April 30th. The new record is titled BETIKO (which translates to „Forever“ in Basque) and promises a massive dose of new music.
If melodic yet raw punk-rock is your style and you can handle lyrics in Basque, this will be right up your alley. I personally love bands where you can tell exactly where they’re from, and in this case, I’d guess the Iberian Peninsula on the first try. The album consists of 9 tracks, including the single „Zure Kaleak,“ which we covered a while ago. Julen Urzaiz from the Sound of Sirens studio (@soundofsirens_estudio) handled the sound. The cover art was designed by Eneko Lizardi.
If you enjoy Southern European energy with „new roots“ (the literal translation of the band’s name), definitely don’t miss out on BETIKO. It is currently available online on all platforms, and word has it that the vinyl version will be arriving very soon.
