British Oi! legends Red London are back with a new album. Keeping It Real will be released at the end of September on German label Contra Records and will feature eleven tracks.
Red London from Sunderland have been around since 1981, and since their return to the scene in 2018, they certainly haven’t been sitting around doing nothing. Keeping It Real is their fourth studio album since the reunion and also the band’s first record released through Contra Records.
The band remain in the same line-up as on their previous album. We can expect the typical melodic British Oi! sound of Red London, along with lyrics dealing with working-class life, society, friendship, loss, getting older and, of course, football.

From the information available about the album, I’ve picked out a couple of interesting little details. The record also features the rather unexpected reggae track “Not Just A Number”, as well as a cover of “You’re Nicked” by Angelic Upstarts, featuring Olaf from Stage Bottles on saxophone.
Keeping It Real will be released on both LP and CD, and pre-orders are already open. The vinyl editions are limited, with Contra Records planning to start shipping them at the end of September.
Red London are back. And after seeing them live in Prague in May and watching them absolutely nail it on stage, that’s another reason to look forward to the new album.
