New York hardcore band Under Pressure were active during the late 1980s. In 1988, they released two demo tapes, Vicious Bite and Vengeance Demo. A year later, they also appeared on the New Breed! Tape Compilation.
In 2022, the band reissued both demos together on vinyl and announced their return to active duty. In the coming weeks, they’re set to release a new seven-track album titled Retrogression. The first preview, Interference, is already available on their Bandcamp page.
There are two things that immediately stand out about Under Pressure. First, they deliver raw, old-school hardcore with a strong Oi! influence. Second, they certainly didn’t rush their comeback. Fans have had to wait many years for new material, but judging by the first taste, the wait has been well worth it.
