Cult British hardcore punks Mau Maus from Sheffield are back with a new full-length album. The Battle Scars Of Human Debris was released in late June 2026 via Boss Tuneage and features thirteen brand-new songs proving that this band’s anger and energy certainly didn’t end in the eighties.
During the first half of the 1980s, Mau Maus were among the pioneers of British hardcore punk. Alongside bands such as Discharge, GBH and The Exploited, they helped define the sound of the new wave of punk. After years of silence, the band returned in 2021 with new vocalist Danny and the recording The Enemy Within. It featured five new tracks alongside five re-recorded classics and marked Mau Maus’ first official new release in more than thirty years.
The Battle Scars Of Human Debris, on the other hand, is a full-length album made up of thirteen brand-new tracks. Musically, the band stays true to their aggressive take on hardcore punk and has lost none of their ability to hit the nail on the head and grab the listener by the throat.
Mau Maus are not limiting themselves to the studio either, with live shows and tours planned in support of the album.
