London’s cult label Dirty Water Records has delivered a prime catch for all lovers of raw garage sound and punk rock. Out now is a compilation album by French wildcards Bart and the Brats, bringing together the best of their discography in one place.
This brat from La Rochelle, France, has been pretty damn productive—boasting four and a half albums and a ton of 7-inchers under their belt. Label boss Paul decided it was high time to compile this sonic blast. The result is 16 tracks mapping out this wild ride, ranging from proven hits to more obscure gems like „Pushin‘ your luck“. As a bonus, the record features a previously unreleased banger, „Pissin‘ in the wind“, from their very last studio session.
„Can’t stand the Beatles“ was chosen as the lead single for this compilation. It originally came out in 2023 on a split 7-inch with The Battlebeats (on Chickpea Records) and, according to the label, didn’t get nearly as much attention back then as it deserved. Now it’s getting a second shot!
The icing on the cake is the visual presentation. The brilliantly twisted and demented cover art was created by Olivier Gasoil, a character well-known from bands like La Flingue or Hatepinks.
The record officially dropped in mid-May 2026 on 12-inch vinyl. Go check it out!
