Danish Oi!punk band Urban Elite sends the angry single „Misanthrope“ into the world!

Copenhagen crew Urban Elite has announced a brand new single titled „Misanthrope“, serving as an uncompromising first taste of their upcoming full-length album.

If you don’t know this trio yet, rest assured they are no newcomers. The band was formed in the spring of 2020 and consists of seasoned veterans of the Danish punk & oi scene. After Kim and Smiley put their home band Stokes CPH on ice, they joined forces with bassist and vocalist Alf (ex-Trouble?, Trench). The result? Raw, energetic, and dirty street-bred rock’n’roll played by punx and skins for punx and skins.

Their sound clearly echoes the legacy of the late 70s and early 80s—influences from bands like Blitz, The Business, Motörhead, or The Exploited are unmistakable. In fact, Urban Elite have already shared the stage for many a wild gig alongside the likes of The Exploited, fresh blood The Chisel, or hardcore legends Slapshot.

The new track „Misanthrope“ lives up to its name perfectly. Let’s just say it’s not exactly about brotherly love; this is pure, raw frustration with the everyday grind and an annoying human society („Every day it’s the same old sht“*). The song also got a visual treatment in the form of an official music video, where you can basically see a reliable solution to the problem described in the lyrics. The video was exclusively premiered by the global D.I.Y. punk channel BlankTV.
