The Basque crew AIAMA clearly doesn’t know the meaning of the word „rest.“ This strike force from the towns of Ermua and Mallabia has been going full throttle, dropping a new record every single year since 2024. Following up on last year’s release, Amodioz eta indarrez, they are back right now with a fresh two-track single titled „Kontu Berbera“ (which translates to The Same Story).
The single features two bangers that perfectly define what AIAMA does best: raw yet melodic Street Punk/Oi! with massive sing-along choruses and lyrics in Euskara (Basque). The tracks are „Alkohol Itsasotan“ (In Seas of Alcohol) and „Praedictum Bellum“ (Predicted War).
The visual side of the single is a story of its own. The killer black-and-white graphics were handled by Maddi Goikoetxea (@maddigoiko12). I’m no expert, so I can’t tell if it’s a woodcut, linocut, or something else entirely, but either way, her work gives the release that perfect „old-school“ dark look and takes the whole vibe to another level—you should definitely check it out.
If you’re looking for the authentic sound of the modern Basque Country, AIAMA is a safe bet. Keep an eye on them, because this pace is absolutely killer!
