The Austrian punk-rock powerhouse The Zsa Zsa Gabors celebrated ten years on the scene in the best way possible – with their sixth studio album. The new record is titled „Life’s Routine“ and, according to the band, it is their most complete and mature work to date. Released via Mad Butcher Records, it’s available as a limited edition of just 250 vinyl LPs.
As the title suggests, the main theme of the record is the daily grind. The lyrics accurately describe today’s reality – the eternal rush to work, lack of sleep, and endless minutes spent on overcrowded public transport. These are the routines we all hate, yet few can escape. However, The Zsa Zsa Gabors don’t approach these topics with depression; instead, they attack them with their signature energy and ’77-style riffs.
Another major theme of the album is Artificial Intelligence. The band has taken a somewhat provocative stance on the matter. The album’s artwork was intentionally created using AI to demonstrate just how shocking this technological progress is. Their message, however, remains uncompromising: „Music must not be influenced by AI!“ It is a clear warning against the loss of humanity in art.
The Zsa Zsa Gabors once again prove that punk, in their hands, is not just about loud guitars, but also about reflecting on the world we live in.
A must-have for fans of honest European punk. Grab your vinyl while they last!
