The Anglo-Dutch group The Thirteenth Turn released their new single „Wasn’t Born to Lose“ on October 10th, which opens their upcoming album Bokkenrijder. The band is a completely new discovery for me, even though I managed to find a few of their older songs online retrospectively.

That makes me all the happier about their uncompromising mix of street punk and hardcore with a touch of metal. A tough, honest, and direct sound. The single, with its strong message of strength and determination, is available on streaming platforms. The album title Bokkenrijder references a certain legend from the Benelux about the „goat riders,“ which sparks a lot of curiosity in me, but not so much that I’ll look it up; I’ll simply wait for the full album. It is set to be released on November 28th, 2025 by Smith & Miller Records.

If the band has been flying under your radar like they were for me, fix that; the single’s title alone suggests an attitude that perfectly suits The Thirteenth Turn—no apologies, no compromises, just pure energy and belief in one’s own power.
