THE STRESS shares single Break the Chains

This single jumped out at me without warning, and it hooked me right from the first listen. It’s a standalone track that won’t appear on the upcoming record (slated for Spring 2026). The Stress serve up two minutes of raw Oi! music here: a simple riff, a clear-cut rhythm, and a chorus that sounds like a shout from the streets or the front row of a gig.

The cover art says it all – cops with batons, sweat, chaos, running for it, and a bit of dark humor. It’s a scene we all know far too well. It’s about facing the pressure together. Break the Chains isn’t about heroism; it’s about instinct – moving forward and refusing to be trampled, even when you know it’s going to cost you.

The Stress stay true to their street punk / Oi! roots with a hardcore edge – nothing extra, nothing fake. This song works exactly because it’s short, direct, and honest. You play it once, twice… and then you hit repeat again because it’s exactly the feeling you need to hear right now.

An unassuming single, but a powerful message. Breaking the chains doesn’t always have to mean a revolution – sometimes it’s enough just to refuse to end up on your knees.
