New York punk and Oi! troublemakers The Stress are back with a new album. The Long Island band are releasing their second full-length, Here First, Here Last, on September 18th via Longshot Music and TASM Records. The album features ten tracks and follows their 2024 debut More Than You’ll Ever Be, which sold out shortly after its release and is now getting pretty hard to find.
On their new record, The Stress continue with their mix of raw street punk, Oi! and rock’n’roll. Expect fast songs, classic mid-tempo tracks, rhythms made for the pit, prominent guitars and, above all, a brutal amount of energy. The band sum up their attitude with the slogan “Fuck the rest, here’s THE STRESS” and judging by the new album, they have no intention of backing down from it.
The band have certainly not been sitting around when it comes to playing live either. During the summer they hit plenty of cities across the US and have already taken the new material to the stage. If you missed them or happen to live too far away, now is the time to get your hands on the record. Here First, Here Last is here and definitely worth your attention.
