The New York ska-rocksteady legends The Slackers kicked off February with a brand-new music video for their track “Hold On”. The song is featured on their latest EP, “Money is King,” released under the Pirates Press Records label.
Written by trombonist and vocalist Glen Pine, “Hold On” carries a powerful and deeply personal message. The lyrics reach out to anyone who feels like life is slipping through their fingers, or feels lonely and ignored. It’s a sincere plea to never give up, to promise yourself to “hold on,” and not to be afraid to reach out for help when your strength is fading.
As we’ve come to expect from The Slackers, both the video and the sound are a masterclass in professional craft. If you’re in need of some encouragement and that classic Slackers sound that never fails to move you, “Hold On” is exactly what you need to hear.
