London blood, sharp tailoring, and an energy that brings rock ‚n‘ roll back to its most elegant roots. Sibling duo The Molotovs are proof that Britain has no shortage of exciting young talent. On Friday, January 30th, 2026, they are finally unleashing their debut album, aptly titled Wasted On Youth.
Modernists for the 21st Century
The moment you first see The Molotovs, their visual identity hits you instantly. These teenagers hit the stage in perfectly fitted bespoke suits and skinny ties. The band proudly aligns itself with the Mod subculture legacy. Mathew (guitar/vocals), with his restless energy and Rickenbacker playstyle, channels a young Paul Weller from The Jam era, while bassist Issey captures the 60s aesthetic of the iconic Twiggy.
For The Molotovs, the Mod style isn’t just a costume—it’s a way of life: elegance and a drive to stand out against the grey of the mediocre.
From Parks to Stadiums
Since busking in London parks during lockdown, the Cartlidge siblings have worked their way up to a staggering 600 live shows. Their sound is an uncompromising mix of Mod revival, punk, and Britpop that has already charmed some of the industry’s biggest legends. They count Pete Doherty and Iggy Pop among their fans, with the latter personally hand-picking them to open for his US tour.
The release of the album under Marshall Records is accompanied by a sold-out club tour, which will be followed in April by a series of stadium shows as special guests for YUNGBLUD.
Wasted On Youth promises to be an anthem for a generation that rejects apathy and wants to bring style back to music. If you’re looking for raw guitar energy that has as much bite as their razor-sharp suits, The Molotovs are currently the most watched name in the UK.
