London has always been a reliable breeding ground for interesting new bands – and Rifle is another name charging forward, not asking who stands in their way. A group of lads from Camden who simply started making noise in a garage are now facing the release of their debut album, and judging by the first singles, it’s clear it will be a sharp punk record.
Rifle mixes the energy of classic British punk with an Oi! vibe and harsh street realism. No glitter, no art for art’s sake – just straightforward, angry punk that sounds like a cold shower after returning from the pub late at night.
Their lyrics aren’t afraid to cut into sore spots: power, work, everyday pressure, and how the city can grind down individuals. The band loudly announced themselves with the single „No King,“ which combines punchy riffs with a chorus reminiscent of a football tribune roar, complete with a video. My favorites, The Chisel, guest on the next released single, „Worthless,“ which is a guarantee of quality. Oh, and it also has a video.
These tracks are a taste of what the whole album will sound like – raw, political, but still infectiously energetic. It comes out on January 16, 2026, under the Year0001 label, and it’s clearly material that needs to be played really loud, otherwise it makes no sense.
Rifle has already managed to tour several major festivals in Europe, and on home ground, they played alongside bands like The Chisel and The Chats. Nothing is sacred to them on stage – they are wild, authentic, and have exactly the spark that the new wave of British punk needs. If you enjoy bands that don’t take themselves too seriously but also speak things plainly, give Rifle a chance. Their debut is on the way…
