The French scene in Rennes announces a new addition. In February 2026, the band Rue Barbare released a new album on their Bandcamp called Demo 2026. Fans of raw Oi! can look forward to a total of seven tracks, including the title song “Rue Barbare” or the final “Dead End Blokes”. The band managed to blow it all out in just 8 hours, which is an admirable speed. The result doesn’t show it. The entire recording maintains a high level and I enjoy it. Another plus is that the complete lyrics are on BandCamp. They delve deep into the raw street reality, from the bitterness of “broken destinies” to the unwavering loyalty to the Oi! subculture. Themes such as social alienation, resistance to false social conventions or personal defiance depict life in the urban shadows. It is an uncompromising look at the world of those eyes, forgotten by the system in the dead ends of society.

The recording is currently available on the band’s Bandcamp. For collectors of physical media, the band is preparing a cassette version, which will soon be available for delivery directly at their concerts.

A new discovery for me, try to pay them full attention, they deserve it.
