I’ve been following Edmonton-based Canadian band Home Front since their first EP and latest single „Nation“ and I actually love them. Now they’re back with a brand new single „Light Sleeper,“ which is out via La Vida Es Un Mus Discos and is a preview of their new album Watch It Die, due out November 14, 2025.

Home Front have been one of the most exciting names on the scene for a while now – mixing raw punk with post-punk and new wave so effortlessly that it sounds like Joy Division went for a beer with Blitz and stopped by the local disco to get a little angry. Their 2023 debut LP Games of Power has earned attention outside of punk circles, but it still has the drive and grime we’re looking for.

„Light Sleeper“ continues their signature mix of dark mood and sharp energy. Synths, guitars and the whole thing has just the right amount of pull to make you get up off the couch and go scream in the front row at a concert.

If you enjoy bands like High Vis, Blitz or old British post-punk, this is a must. Home Front prove that Canada is not just hockey and maple syrup, but also honest, dirty and smart punk.
