Garage punk The Boojums release two songs from upcoming album

The Boojums, garage punk, alternative rock

The Boojums are a three-piece garage punk band from Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. They’ve just released two tracks from their upcoming album on Bandcamp, which will feature twelve songs in total.

I was trying to figure out how to describe their sound, and what came to mind was something around garage punk, power pop, and alternative rock. Then I found their own description on Bandcamp, and it’s so good that I’ll just quote it here: Personally, I can only add that I seriously enjoy their sound.

„Formed in late 2024, they quickly made waves by uploading grainy, self-recorded live VHS performances to YouTube and Instagram, catching attention with their infectious hooks and raw, no-frills energy. Their sound is a throwback and a leap forward—melding ‘60s garage rock, ‘70s punk, ‘80s alternative, and ‘90s power-pop into something undeniably fresh.

Their forthcoming self-titled debut LP captures the band in full force: a stripped-down, emotionally charged ride through personal growth, heartbreak, love, mortality, and life in small-town Nova Scotia. With wailing vocals, snarling guitars, thunderous drums, and filthy 8-string bass lines, The Boojums deliver rock and roll that feels both timeless and vital.“
