The Enforcers play aggressive, hard-hitting bootrock packed with strong guitar leads and songs that build up brilliantly. The hardcore influence is still clearly there, but the band blends it naturally into their trademark sound. If you enjoyed their first LP Rock Against Society or the follow-up , The Enforcers then Caution To The Wind definitely shouldn’t escape your attention

First Attack jsou Oi! kapela z kanadského Vancouveru. Jde o projekt kolem Grega Huffa, ve kterém se angažují členové kapel Bishops Green, Alternate Action, The Enforcers, Subway Thugs a The Buzzers. První album z minulého roku udělalo kapele na scéně velmi slušné jméno, objevovalo se v osobních žebříčcích nejlepších desek roku a vyneslo First Attack také evropské turné. Druhá deska More Sorrow na tento úspěšný start navazuje a vyšla v osvědčené spolupráci Longshot Music pro USA a Kanadu (červená verze) a Try And Stop Me Records pro Evropu (modrá verze). Obsahuje osm songů, skvěle zpracovaný obal a všechny texty. Tolik nezbytná faktografie, kterou máme za sebou, a můžeme se věnovat samotné muzice.

First Attack are an Oi! band from Vancouver, Canada. The band is a project centred around Greg Huff, featuring members of Bishops Green, Alternate Action, The Enforcers, Subway Thugs and The Buzzers. Their debut album, released last year, earned the band a solid reputation on the scene, appeared on plenty of personal best-of-the-year lists and even led to a European tour. Their second album, More Sorrow, builds on that successful start and has been released through the well-established cooperation between Longshot Music for the US and Canada (red vinyl) and Try And Stop Me Records for Europe (blue vinyl). It features eight songs, excellent artwork and all the lyrics. That’s enough of the essential facts – let’s get down to the music itself.

Hory se pohybují někde na pomezí post-punku, punku a hardcore, ale mnohem zajímavější než zařazení do škatulky je podle mě atmosféra, kterou se jim podařilo na pěti skladbách vytvořit. Je v tom napětí, neklid, temnota a pocit, že něco není v pořádku. Hudba se nehroutí do beznaděje, spíš tlačí na potřebu s ní bojovat a zároveň nechává prostor silným textům.

A právě ty stojí za pozornost. „Slabost“ mluví o strachu z blízkosti, neschopnosti dát dohromady vlastní chaos. „Neboj se tmy. Boj se světla“. „Červotoč“ pracuje s obrazem ničení všeho, co nám připomíná nás samotné, zatímco „Mezidobí“ přináší hodně silný obraz krajiny, po které možná nezůstane vůbec nic. „Není co předat a není ani komu“.

Hodně silná je i „Sněť“. Tlak, který člověka dusí, neviditelná pouta, očekávání, že bude „hodná holka“, nebude mít názor a prostě ponese na bedrech sračky světa. A pak „Pustina“, kde se osobní pocit ztráty míchá s obrazem prázdné krajiny, kouře, prachu a hledání domova.

Demo 2026 není dlouhá nahrávka. Pět skladeb, něco přes třináct minut a konec. Ale rozhodně to není materiál, který po doposlouchání jen tak zmizí. Hory mají vlastní výraz, silné texty a atmosféru, která funguje.

Takže tentokrát trochu se zpožděním, ale o to raději: Hory z Olomouce rozhodně stojí za poslech.

Hory operate somewhere between post-punk, punk and hardcore, but to me, much more interesting than putting them into a particular box is the atmosphere they manage to create across these five tracks. There’s tension, unease, darkness and a feeling that something isn’t right. The music doesn’t collapse into hopelessness; instead, it pushes towards the need to fight it while leaving plenty of space for the powerful lyrics.

And those lyrics are definitely worth paying attention to. “Slabost” talks about the fear of closeness and the inability to put your own chaos together. “Don’t be afraid of the dark. Be afraid of the light.” “Červotoč” works with the image of destroying everything that reminds us of ourselves, while “Mezidobí” paints a powerful picture of a landscape where perhaps nothing will be left behind. “There is nothing to pass on, and no one to pass it on to.”

“Sněť” is another particularly powerful track. The pressure that suffocates you, invisible chains, the expectation that you should be a “good girl,” keep your opinions to yourself and simply carry the shit of the world on your shoulders. And then there’s “Pustina,” where a personal sense of loss mixes with images of an empty landscape, smoke, dust and the search for a home.

Demo 2026 isn’t a long release. Five songs, just over thirteen minutes, and it’s over. But it’s definitely not the kind of material that simply disappears once you’ve finished listening. Hory have their own sound, strong lyrics and an atmosphere that really works.

And I have to say, I’m glad diyconspiracy.net published this article and brought the band, along with a few others, to my attention.

So, a little late this time, but all the more happily: Hory from Olomouc are definitely worth checking out.

Na nahrávce najdeme čtyři songy – „Skinhead Is Back“, „Never One of Us“, „Bovver Boys“ a „Someone’s Getting Hurt“. Celkem jde o něco málo přes devět minut nového materiálu.

Tohle je to opravdu čistokrevná Oi! nahrávka. Tvrdá hudba od skinheadů pro skinheady a všechny další street troublemakers, kteří milují tenhle styl. Žádné zbytečnosti, jen pořádná dávka Oi!, která jede rovnou na věc.

První skladba „Skinhead Is Back“ se objeví na připravované kompilaci Northern Aggression #4 od Insurgence Records. Zbývající tři songy by se měly objevit na vinylu během roku 2027. Další podrobnosti o fyzickém vydání nám zatím nejsou známé.

The release features four songs – “Skinhead Is Back,” “Never One of Us,” “Bovver Boys,” and “Someone’s Getting Hurt.” In total, that’s just over nine minutes of brand-new material.

This is a truly pure Oi! record. Hard music from skinheads for skinheads and all the other street troublemakers who love this style. No unnecessary bullshit, just a proper dose of Oi! that gets straight to the point.

The first track, “Skinhead Is Back,” will appear on the upcoming Northern Aggression #4 compilation from Insurgence Records. The other three tracks are expected to appear on vinyl sometime in 2027. We don’t have any further details about the physical release yet.

A jestli mají být tyhle dvě ukázky předzvěstí toho, co nás čeká, máme se na co těšit. Cult Crime servírují strhující a rychlou jízdu na pomezí punku a rock’n’rollu, která nenechá nikoho v klidu sedět. Špinavé kytary, pořádná dávka energie a přímočarý tah na branku. Žádné zbytečné kudrlinky, jen poctivá porce rock’n’rollu s punkovým přístupem.

Fully Automatic nabídne celkem 12 skladeb a vyjde v několika vinylových verzích.

Dva singly už jsou venku, na zbytek si musíme počkat do konce října.

And if these two tracks are anything to go by, we have plenty to look forward to. Cult Crime deliver a blistering, fast-paced ride somewhere between punk and rock ’n’ roll that will leave nobody sitting still. Dirty guitars, a serious dose of energy, and a no-nonsense approach. No unnecessary frills, just a solid dose of rock ’n’ roll with a punk attitude.

Fully Automatic will feature 12 tracks in total and will be released in several vinyl editions.

The first two singles are already out, but we’ll have to wait until the end of October for the rest.
