Faz Waltz, the outfit from Cantù, Italy, has just unleashed its tenth studio album with the all-telling title „Strikes Ten.“ And I have to say, it really took me by surprise. When I heard them last, their sound was a blend of 70s glam rock, rock’n’roll, and power pop. But this record is completely different—I’d say they’ve gone straight back to the roots.
The album was released at the turn of 2025/2026. It features 11 tracks and is a raw ride showcasing original American rock’n’roll – think of a sound like Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the like, with plenty of piano melodies. Even though they sound very retro, their music doesn’t feel outdated at all. In fact, it was quite refreshing to listen to something a bit different and be reminded of where all this guitar music I love actually came from.
To sum it up in one sentence: it’s a perfectly played rock’n’roll record that you can spin with your dad who grew up on The Who, or your grandad who loves Hank Williams—and honestly, everyone will be happy.
