BRUX Pay Tribute to Their Influences on Sota La Influència

The dark Catalan Oi!/punk outfit BRUX from Barcelona is back with a new 10″ record titled Sota La Influència.

This five-track EP is a tribute to the bands that heavily influenced their sound and songwriting, successfully weaving together elements of Oi!, punk, and post-punk. Formed in 2018, the band’s delivery blends the roughness of working-class Oi! with melancholic, almost gothic post-punk elements. Their previous recordings, Working Class Drama and Guerra Mental, showcased potent instrumental aggression, catchy riffs, and raw yet melodic vocals.

The new EP was released on October 24, 2025, via the Mendeku Diskak label. The record is a limited run, featuring 380 copies on black vinyl and 120 on gray, plus a few test pressings.

Sonically, Sota La Influència builds on the foundations that shaped the BRUX sound: vocals sound confident and loud, the drums drive the whole thing forward, and the bassline gives the songs serious weight. The darker tones of post-punk blend seamlessly with punk rock energy, resulting in every song feeling simultaneously like an anthem and a personal statement.

For fans of Oi!, street punk, and bands that honor their roots while reflecting influences from multiple styles, this record is a sharp, honest effort. Definitely give it a listen.
